This year, 2012, is going to be a big one.
There is already a global awakening happening, in which old structures of control are dying in the face of a new demand for transparency and accountability from the people of the planet.
You can see evidence of this in the Arab Spring, the #Occupy movement, WikiLeaks, social media, etc.
This is both a political and a spiritual change, as people everywhere are awakening to the incredible power they have inside, the wonderful sense of connectiveness between us all, with our environment, and with the Divine. (Yes, I made up the word connectiveness.)
Around the world, people are releasing their minds from dependency on the anachronistic systems that they were taught were true, and searching for a deeper sense of truth for themselves.
Take a look around.
What part are you playing in the saga that is occurring before us?
Are you taking this opportunity to question the things you believe to be true?
Nothing wrong with that– you either re-affirm your beliefs, or you have an opportunity to see the world with new eyes.
Either way, you win.
And isn’t that what renewal is about? Isn’t that a wonderful way to honor yourself in the New Year?
I am going on vacation this week to do exactly that:
- To look back at 2011 and think about the changes and developments of the year. Is there anything I can learn from how I handled things and the results I achieved?
- To think about my present situation. Am I happy where I am and with what I am doing? Am I going in the right direction, aligned with my personal mission and goals?
- To look forward and think about what I want for myself in 2012. What are my internal goals? What are my external goals? How do I want to live this year, and how does it fit into what I want for my life overall?
I’ll share my thoughts on this with all of you after my vacation.
And I welcome each of you to think through the questions above for yourself and share your thoughts in the comments below.
The time is right to make rapid advances in growth this year.
But just like in sailing, you need to be aware of which way the wind is blowing and turn your sails in the right direction.
Here is a video that may spark some interesting thought.
It is an amazing documentary called Thrive: What on Earth Will it Take?
It definitely challenges the current dominant belief system that we were all taught.
There may be some things that you disagree with, or that sound a bit whacky, but it’s not really about agreeing or disagreeing with everything in the movie.
The point is to use it to give yourself a different perspective from which to think and review your own beliefs.
Remember, at one time, people were all taught that the Earth was flat and that the Sun revolved around it.
All belief systems should be MUST be challenged every once in a while. It is the only way to evolve.
Here is the trailer:
Links to the full film are below.
I’d love to hear what you think about it, and the results of your own questioning process in the comments.
