How Electronic Voting Machines Can Compromise Democracy
Yesterday, I posted a brilliant piece of satire by the Onion News Network, which you can also watch here below:
Diebold Accidentally Leaks Results Of 2008 Election Early
But I thought that some people may not be aware of the underlying issue here, which is not funny at all. There have been numerous well-proven allegations of voting fraud over the past 8 years (Florida in 2000, Ohio in 2004, the New York primary in 2008).
One central issue has been the electronic voting machines, which can be easily “hacked” and skew the election results in favor of whichever candidate the “hacker” likes, completely circumventing the actual will of the voters.
What is even scarier, is that many of these voting machines have no paper trail, so there is no way to know if the machine has been tampered with or not.
If you have not yet seen the excellent HBO documentary, “Hacking Democracy,” I strongly encourage you to watch this must-see investigation.
Get informed.
Make sure your vote counts.
