The Guardian, a prominent newspaper in the United Kingdom, reports that a major study, published today in the journal PLoS (Public Library of Science), found that Prozac does not work any better than a placebo– except in cases of extreme depression.

If you have read my book, 360 Degree Success, you’ll remember that we discuss this very issue, referencing a study by the Duke University Medical Center that showed that exercise was just as effective as Prozac.

The study also says that the data for similar drugs, such as paroxetine (Seroxat), venlafaxine (Effexor) and nefazodone (Serzone) is the same as for fluoxetine (Prozac).

The Guardian report says that 40 million people take these types of anti-depressants worldwide, with all forms of side-effects.

Such a shame if these people could get the same positive effects from better, healthier alternatives.

If you are taking anti-depressants, I strongly encourage you to read this article.
