The drinking water dilemma: Bottled vs. Tap Water

OK, by now most informed readers know that we need to drink at least 2 liters of water daily to maintain good health and energy. But lately, I have seen a lot of articles in the news and on blogs claiming that we should stop consuming bottled water, mainly because:

  • Much of it comes from the tap anyway: The two biggest brands, Aquafina & Dasani actually are just filtered tap water.
  • The costs of bottle transportation and waste are extra loads on our natural resources & environment.

But, the people who say that tap water is the same as bottled water are not considering a few important details:

  1. Not all bottled waters are the same:

Pepsi’s Aquafina is now the best-selling water brand in the U.S., while Coke’s Dasani ranks second. Just because Coke (Dasani) and Pepsi (Aquafina) have decided to cash in on the bottled water fad by just using tap water, doesn’t mean that there aren’t some REAL pure bottled waters out there. Water that comes from deep, pure, sources like Fiji, Trinity, and Voss.

  1. Water stores vibrational information:

The work of Dr. Masaru Emoto (popularized by the movie, What the Bleep Do We Know?!?) shows us that all water is not the same. Water carries a vibrational signature that changes depending on the natural (or un-natural) state of the source of the water, as well as human thoughts and emotion. Dr. Emoto’s work shows us that the vibration of the tap water in most major municipalities is far inferior to the vibration of water from more natural sources. Since our bodies are made up of 75% water, the vibration of the water we drink affects our overall energetic vibration, and therefore our levels of happiness and consciousness.

  1. Tap water has fluoride in it:

As we discussed in a previous post, fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland, impedes mental development, and makes people more docile.

  1. There’s Prozac in the water:

Even worse, scientists are now finding pharmaceuticals, such as Prozac & Paxil, in our tap water and tap water sources. The drugs are passing through human urine and sweat, and then going back to water treatment plants-who cannot handle the pharmaceutical content in the water. Take a look at the video below for some shocking information:

So, the extra bottles may cost more and require transportation and disposal, but I’m sticking to my bottles of Fiji for now. My selection of Fiji is based upon the book Water & Salt: The Essence of Life. For more information on this amazing book, check out the resources section of this blog.

What about the expense of Fiji & Voss, etc.? What can one do on a budget?

You can get a water distiller for $100 - $150 (readily available online) to get rid of all the impurities, including fluoride. There are lots of ways to improve the vibration of distilled water, as Dr. Emoto reveals in his book, Messages from Water (see resources section of this blog).

Dr. Emoto improved the vibration through positive thoughts, beautiful natural pictures, peaceful music, and writing down positive words like “Thank You” and “Love”. If you have never seen this work, take a look at the video below and see for yourself:

For a couple years I struggled with the same issues and concerns. When my house dogs would not drink the city tap water, I follow suite. I started buying cases of bottled water a month. Spending more than I would like to share.
Then I was introduced to a Water Purification system that not only made the water taste better (even for my dogs) and did not smell of chlorine, but removed 140 health containments.
Thats when I knew that others would have the same interest or desires to remove harmful “stuff” from their city tap water and from their well water. We started Filter Water Direct.com
The landfills are reportedly taking 38 BILLION empty plastic bottles a year and the chemical fall out in our body’s is a major concern. CNN just ran a report on this findings.
Please enjoy our water site if you find the same need I had just a few years ago.

A possible answer to this problem may be more surprising than you think.
If you drink 2 liters of water a day from either the tap or a bottle, then you are probably drinking too much.
60% of our water intake comes from food rather than from liquid water itself.
So if you want to up your water intake and are, quite rightly, concerned about the safety of either tap or bottled water then eat more food such as fruit and vegetables.

Good and informative blog post about water! I wrote one too, and brought up similiar things.

I vote for bottled water, but 2 litres a day is too much, in my opinion. I can’t remember where I got it from, but drinking too much is as dangerous aa drinking too little.

    Mel,
You can look in the book “Water & Salt” for an analysis of what’s in FIJI water, but I can’t speak to other bottled waters– like I say above, they are from different sources. Some are just plain filtered tap water (like using a Brita).

    Best,

    Vortex Energizer…

Wouldn’t you agree that the planets water needs to heal? For too long the benefits of water and drinking it have had to do with the impact on us. It’s time for us to pay far more attention to what water is like in its natural “alive” state so…
